Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of painless nursing measures on postoperative pain and complications for orthopedic inpatients. Methods 160 cases of orthopedic inpatients from August 2012 to March 2014 were included in the study, in which the observation group of 80 cases was treated with pain nursing measures, while the control group of 80 patients was treated with conventional treatments. Compared the effects of nursing management of two groups. Results Before surgery, pain scores of the two groups were roughly equal with no significant difference, but after the surgery, the patient's pain score for observation group were significantly better than the control group with a statistically significant difference. The incidence of postoperative complications of patients for observation group such as knee swelling, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary infection, muscle atrophy and sleep disorders was significantly lower than that of control group. Conclusion Painless nursing not only can effectively alleviate orthopedic postoperative pain for orthopedic inpatients, reduce patients' physical and mental discomfort caused by pain, but also help reduce the incidence of postoperative complications for patients, which has a very positive meaning for postoperative recovery.
