Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of follow-up visit on volume control for peritoneal dialysis patients. Methods In total 40 patients with home peritoneal dialysis who had hospitalized in our department were included to be intervened with telephone follow-up, QQ follow-up and home visiting. Results After 6-month intervention, complications like hypertension above grade 2 and heart failure were rarely arisen. Peritoneal dialysis patients' weight was obviously lighter than before. Their blood pressure and blood serum sodium also reduced distinctly. The peritoneal dialysis ultrafiltration, urine volume and serum albumin were increased obviously with statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Conclusion Follow-up visit could not only improve ability of estimating volume status and treating the overloaded volume for patients with home peritoneal dialysis but also reduce the incidence rate of cardiovascular disease.
