Abstract: In order to improve the sealing performance of shield machine main bearing seals, the author establishes the optimization design process of main bearing seals, analyzes and researches the effects between structure size of lip seal with clamping ring and its seal perfor-mance with ANSYS Workbench. Finds that the diameter of the clamping ring, the tilt angle and height of the lip seal have influences on its sealing performance. Optimizes the lip seal with these parameters, the optimization analysis significantly improves the lip seal’s sealing per-formance and provides references for main bearing seal’designing and selection of shield machine.
