Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of risk management strategy for critically ill patients in emergency department. Methods In total 148 critically ill patients treated in the hospital were included as the study object and were divided into observation group and control group with random number table. The control group of 74 cases was treated with routine care management model, while the observation group of 74 cases was treated with risk management strategy model. The two groups' effects of nursing were compared. Results Observation group had obviously better indicators including error rate of nursing, incidence rate of nursing defects, emergency staying time, and success rate of emergency than control group with statistically significant difference between groups. What is more, observation group had better indicators including the length of stay, hospitalization expenses and patients' satisfaction degree than control group with statistically significant difference between groups. Conclusion The implementation of risk management strategy for critically ill patients in emergency department is very important which can effectively reduce the incidence of nursing errors and defects and can shorten emergency staying time.
