Abstract: Objective To discuss the effect of the application of SBAR communication model in the process of shift exchange among nurses and doctors in the department of orthopaedics.Method To design SBAR pass-on sheet for shift exchange in order to help nurses report patients' condition to doctors based on SBAR communication model.Result SBAR communication model which has precise content with pertinence could reduce the shift exchange time, improve the efficiency of communication between doctors and nurses, and promote the ability of observation, critical thinking and expression of nurses in different levels.Conclusion The standardization of shift exchange model, the promotion of doctors' satisfaction level of shift exchange and the improvement of quality care's content could make contribution to the harmonious relations among doctors with nurses, doctors with patients and nurses with patients.
