Abstract: Public hospital performance assessment is a major part of performance management in health sector, which is an effective management method to improve healthcare quality, control hospital costs, improve hospital economic and social benefits and increase patient satisfaction. However, in the context of public hospital reform, there are some problems for performance assessment on public hospitals, such as incomplete post management, job classification management is not fully implemented, unreasonable setting of performance assessment index, the role of performance assessment results is single and unsound government financial compensation mechanism. This paper will discuss the achievement and problems of performance assessment and put forward suggestions.
