Abstract: Objective Discuss the application effect of 5S management method in endoscopic surgical instruments. Method 5S management has been carried out since 2013 to promote scientization and standardization of nursing management. Standardized management was taken on people, objects, environment and compared the management quality of endoscopic surgical instruments, the nurse's working ability and medical staffs' satisfaction with those before the implementation of 5S management. Results After implementing 5S management, qualification rate of preparation for surgical endoscopic instruments, specification rate of placement, the timeliness of instrument preparation, effective utilization rate, qualification rate of cleaning, packaging and aseptic materials sampling were higher than those before while instrument loss rate was lower with statistical significance (P<0.05). The awareness of nurse instrument cleaning process, instrument use, the awareness of disassembly and installation method and medical staffs' satisfaction were higher than those before with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion 5S management method could effectively improve the management quality and effective utilization of endoscopic instruments and improve the medical staffs' satisfaction.
