Application of Placentain Barcode Management in Surgery Room

Abstract: This paper explores the procedure design and application of barcode in the placentain management in the surgery room. Based on the analysis of the traditional management procedure for placentain in surgery room and the well-developed barcode management for pathologic specimen in our hospital, barcode was introduced to optimize the placentain management. In total, 840 placentains were managed in barcode management system from October 1st, 2013 to February 1st, 2014, with accomplished development and application of label printing, transportation, handover, and feedback in special cases for the system and further improved the safety of placentain management in surgery room.
