Abstract: This paper described the nurses' shortage in Outpatient Department of The First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University and status of nursing work in this situation;analyzed the causes of clinic nursing burnout;explained why hospital cultural was important to hospital staff management;and then put forward applying the Pike Place Fish Market Philosophy in outpatient nursing management procedure and cultivating a positive role of the culture. After a year's practice, the burnout situation was improved;more nurses felt satisfied about their job;and eventually patient satisfaction was further improved.
