Abstract: Objective Prevent the occurrence of mental patient relevant adverse events and reduce its incidence. Methods Conduct retrospective analysis on adverse events in rehabilitation ward occurred from January 2012 to December 2013 by collecting relevant information of 556 long-stay chronic mental patients. Compare the patients' safety monitoring records of the two years. Results Adverse events reduced from 126 cases in 2012 to 80 cases in 2013, falling 36.5%, especially those major adverse events or adverse events led by physical disease reduced to 0 case. Conclusion Safety monitoring in the nursing care on chronic mental patients could reduce the occurrence of adverse events and improve the satisfaction of patients and their relatives.
