Abstract: Objective To explore whether punctuality rate of the beginning of first surgery can be improved by Quality Control Circle (QCC) group activities. Method QCC team was established with the theme of"Improve the Punctuality Rate for the Beginning of the First Surgery"to analyze the status quo and causes for the issues, develop and implement the proposed countermeasures to maintain the continuous quality improvement. Results After the implementation of QCC activities, the punctuality rate of the beginning of the first surgery significantly improved. Performance was improved in eight areas including problem-solving skills, responsibility, communication and coordination, self-confidence, team cohesion, motivation, quality control techniques, harmony after the QCC activities. Conclusion QCC optimizes workflow of surgical departments;increases the punctuality rate of the beginning of the first surgery;improves the efficiency of health care;reduces the cost of relevant departments;and improves teamwork and quality management capabilities of members in QCC team.
