Abstract: After serving as an official in the Song Ddynasty, officials could choose their living places according to their economic strength and personal preference, or settled in the capital and surrounding areas, or stayed in the official places, or return to their hometown. Rich Retirement officials built private gardens, beautification of the residence. Lack of financial resources and business, older officials under economic pressure had to rent a house to live, the temple was one of its options. In terms of social communication, senior officials often set up social networks in the form of clubs based on their residence. After getting rid of the busy government affairs, the cultural life and leisure life of the elderly officials were more colorful, and writing books was still their common choice. At the same time, religious belief, travel was also an important part of the leisure life of senior officials.
