Abstract: In the present paper, the temperature dependence of the isothermal bulk modulus BT(T) and the isotropic shear modulus G(T) are investigated. The relationships for BT(T) and G(T) are discussed with the assumptions that the dimensionless thermoelastic parameter Γ and the isothermal Poisson's ratio σT are independent of temperature T when T is higher than the Debye temperature ΘD. These relations are used to calculate the values of BT(T) and G(T) at different temperatures T for eight minerals. The results are found to present close agreement with the experimental data.
