Abstract: Holographic interferometry is sensitive to micro-displacement,and it can be used to measure the surface changes of an object in a non-contact and visual way. The interference fringes generated through the coherence of holographic images are used to measure the vibration and deformation of the object. With the continuous development of digital holography, the digitized holographic interferometry can be utilized to obtain a qualitative and quantitative analysis on the displacement and deformation, which improves the measurement accuracy and has important guidance on the analysis of surface mechanical changes. Holographic interferometry has some research basis in dentistry, which is mainly used to measure and analyze the deformation of teeth and the surrounding bone, the transmission and dissipation of forces, and the changes in the stability of restorations and implants. The research progress of holographic interferometry in the field of oral biomechanics is reviewed in this article.
