Abstract: Objective To report normal values and age-related changes of video-head impulse test (vHIT) in healthy volunteers. Methods One hundred and eleven healthy volunteers were divided into seven age groups, and sub-jected to video-head impulse tests. The vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) gain and gain asymmetry ratios were analyzed and compared among groups. Results For these healthy subjects, the mean horizontal VOR gain was 1.04 ± 0.09 (0.70-1.26),and the mean anterior and posterior VOR gains were 0.89±0.13(0.61-1.25)and 0.88±0.12(0.62-1.24).There were no significant differences in horizontal and vertical VOR gains among the different age groups (P>0.05).The mean left and right horizontal gain asymmetry ratio was 6.83±4.01%.The mean left-anterior and right-posterior(LARP) and right-anterior and left-posterior(RALP)gain asymmetry ratios were 6.03±5.31% and 7.36±5.03%.There were no significant differences in gain asymmetry ratios among different age groups(P>0.05).Conclusion There are no obvi-ous age-related changes in VOR gain and gain asymmetry ratios in healthy people.
