Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of Kang'ai injection in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma treated with trancatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with microwave ablation (MWA). Method 92 cases of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma treated by TACE combined with MWA were retrospectively analyzed, patients in study group (n=46) were administered with TACE + WMA+ Kang'ai injection, while those in control group (n=46) were given TACE + WMA only, the levels of AFP, ALT, coagulation function, overall response rate and adverse reac-tions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Result There was no significant difference in AFP, ALT and coagulation function between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05);while after treatment, the levels of ALT and AFP in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05);the overall response rate was higher in the study group than control group (P<0.05);during the therapy, the study group had lower incidence of leuko-penia and decreased hemoglobin compared with control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Kang'ai injection enhances the overall response rate for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma receiving TACE combined with MWA, thus reduces the damage to liver function and adverse reactions induced by the medications.
