Abstract: Objective To observe the expression of microRNA-92a (miRNA-92a) and its correlation with the clinico-pathological features of gastric cancer. Method A total of 80 cases of gastric cancer patients were enrolled in the study, gastric cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues (5 cm away from the edge of the lesion) were collected, qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression of miRNA-92a in collected tissues, followed by the correlation analysis of miRNA-92a and clinicopathological features of gastric cancer. Result The relative expression of miRNA-92a in the gastric cancer tissues (0.72 ± 0.11) was significantly higher than that in the adjacent normal tissues (0.36 ± 0.07) (P<0.01). The relative expres-sion of miRNA-92a in gastric cancer was related to tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage (P<0.05). The median survival time of the high expression group was (18.55 ± 11.39) months, lower than that of low expres-sion group (23.62±10.60) months (P<0.05). Conclusion miRNA-92a is highly expressed in gastric cancer patients, and may be related to lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, tumor differentiation, and clinical prognosis.
