Application of occupational health management mode of General Electric Company in occupational heath intervention for a shoes manufacturing enterprise

Abstract: [Objective] To apply the occupational health management mode of General Electric Company (GE) in occupational heath intervention for shoes manufacturing enterprises.[Methods] Combined with the field investigation,data verification,interviews and questionnaire survey,96 element checklist in safety and health management system of GE was used in the occupational health risk assessment for a sports shoes manufacturing enterprise of Hubei Province,and the assessment indexes between before and after intervention were compared.[Results] The qualified rate of 96 element checklist increased from 53.1% to 85.9% after intervention.The qualified rate of engineering protection measures,emergency rescue facilities,occupational health examination,occupational hazard notification,wearing personal protective equipment and training frequency increased significantly,while the medical leave rate decreased significantly.[Conclusion] GE mode can effectively improve the level of occupational health management of the enterprise,and provide the basis for enterprise to explore new model of occupational health management under the new situation and promote the sustainable development of the enterprises.
