On the Historical Evolution and Function of China’s Destiny

Abstract: Chinese concept of destiny originated in the Xia,Shang and Zhou generation,contended in the pre-Qin schools of thought,stereotyped in the Qin and Han Dynasties.Since the Han dynasty,people gradually establish the absolute worship of the sky and shape the inner respect and fear on the sky from generation to generation.Because it is the source of morality,the concept of destiny plays an important role in safeguarding the royal power,ruling the people and unifying the spiritual world of people.In modern China,understanding the historical evolution and role of the concept of destiny can not only penetrate into the basic thread of Chinese traditional culture transmission,but also explain the existence and influence of the concept of destiny clearly in a certain range.
