Realization of the modulation recognition of composite signals based on FPGA

Abstract: In order to identify the modulation of a composite signal, which contains four kinds of modulation modes, aiming at the characteristics of the composite signal, the modulation recognition scheme for the composite signal was proposed based on FPGA. In the scheme, a set of feature parameters were extracted from the constellation of the whole sampling sequence and the weak signal of the timely sampling sequence based on the differences between mixed signals and single signals. Firstly, the arithmetic feasibility of the scheme was verified by the MATLAB simu?lation, then the ModelSim simulation was used to verify that the scheme can be used by FPGA. Finally, hardware implementation test was done with the help of ChipScope. Experiments prove that the algorithm is feasible, and the rate of success is considerable when the signal to noise ratio is higher than 15 dB.
