Abstract: Chinese traditional art is colorful and rich in variety.It is the carrier of long history of China, and its beauties from images, colors, crafts and implications also represent and even inlfuence the local customs and visual languages at different times and in different regions, which contain ancient Chinese people’s love of life and relfect deep cultural heritage. In today ‘s China, corresponding to the government’ proposal that cultural and creative should lead the design development, I think that the traditional art with distinctive characteristics could provide abundant material sourcesfor modern design, and multiple creative inspirations for personalized expression in fashion design simultaneously. Over the past decade, I have been looking the traditional Chinese art as a starting point in design practice, mining the beauty of traditional art, applying this beautyinto the modern costume design, and comprehendingthe artistic charm through the combination between the traditional culture and modern de-sign.
