Abstract: Adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary gland is a rare malignant tumor in the head and neck, but this tumor is the most common malignant type in the salivary gland. Salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma is characterized by local, early, and blood vessel invasions, and the unique biological features of blood metastasis. The epidemiology, clinical behavior, pathology, diagnostic workup, treatment, and prognosis of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma were reviewed to determine its unique biological characteristics.
