Abstract: By using the methods of literature, video analysis and mathematical statistics, the real time data of Chinese men's basketball team and its opponents in the thirty-first Rio De Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016 were analyzed and compared. The results show that:the Chinese men's basketball team has several basic characteristics including insufficient young international competition experience, weak resistance capability, unexceptional personal ability. There were significant differences index between Chinese team and its opponents on, goal difference, shooting average, rebounds, assists, steals and mistakes, there was no significant difference on fouls and block shot. And it puts forward suggestions to provide relevant references and helps for the Chinese men's basketball team in the 2019 World Cup based on the analysis of offensive and defensive techniques.
