Abstract: The research results of China’s scholars show that factors influencing high savings rate in China include economy, system, income, income allocation and age. Combining the theory of Lewis turning point and demographic dividend, on the basis of integrating factors of economy, system, population and age, the paper introduces the factor of labor force structure change and uses VAR model to make the impulse analysis and variance decomposition analysis accordingly on China’s high residents savings rate. Results show that the economic growth rate places a long-term and positive effect on the residents savings rate, and the impact of the dependency ratio and the proportion of endowment insurance is primarily short-term, but the impacts of farming population proportion is negative. In the end, the paper put forward policy suggestions according to the analysis results.
