Abstract: 2,4-Dichlorobutyrophenone was synthesized via Friedel-Grafts acylation using m-dichlorobenzene and butyryl chloride as the material. The effects of the ratio of reagents, adding temperature and reaction temperature to the yield of 2,4-Dichlorobutyrophenone.The results showed that the optimal condition molar ratio of m-dichlorobenzene aluminium chloride and butyryl chloride were 1.5∶1.5∶1, adding temperature was heated at 40 ℃ for 0.5 h and then at reaction temperature with 110 ℃ for 2 h, the yield of 2,4-Dichlorobutyrophenone was about 94.4 %.
