Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine on Chronic Aplastic Anemia and Its Adverse Reactions

Abstract: Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine on chronic aplastic anemia.Methods:During March 2012 to March 2015 in our hospital,68 patients with chronic aplastic anemia were chosen for the study.According to the order of treatment,they were divided into two groups.The control group’s 34 patients were given conventional Western medicine treatment and the observation group’s 34 patients used the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine treatment.The clinical treatment and adverse events were compared between the two groups.Results:The response rate was 88.24% in the observation group,which was significantly increased compared with 64.71% in the control group(P < 0.05).After treatment,the observation group’s WBC(3.87 ± 1.03) ×109/L,Hb(101.47 ± 12.65) g/L and PLT(71.26 ± 14.58) × 109/L were significantly increased compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05).And compared with those of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).The observation group’s hospitalization time was(32.76 ± 8.49) d,which was significantly reduced compared with that of the control group.The recurrence rate of the observation group was 20.59% and compared with that of the control group it was significantly lower.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The observation group’s hirsutism,tremor,gingival hyperplasia,acne and abnormal liver function rates were 5.88%,11.76%,8.82%,14.71%and 2.94%,which were significantly lower compared with those of the control group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:The Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine on chronic aplastic anemia has significant effect and can effectively improve the clinical symptoms,enhance the ability of bone marrow,shorten the hospitalization time,reduce the relapse rate and reduce the adverse reactions.It is safe,as the preferred clinical applications.
