Abstract: Objective To retrospectively study the efficacy of preventive terminal ileum enterostomy in laparoscopic radical resection in lower rectal cancer. Methods One hundred forty-four cases of laparoscopic radical resection( Dixon)of lower rectal cancer were divided into two groups,of which seventy-two patients named control group with no preventive terminal ileum stoma,another seventy-two cases with preventive ileal colostomy. All patients were managed by rapid perioperative rehabilitation measures. Results The risk of anastomotic fistula in the treatment group was 1. 39%,which significantly lower than the control group 15. 28%. And the incidence of postoperative complications in patients,average length of stay is lower in the treatment group than in the control group. The differences above were statistically significant( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Preventive terminal ileum enterostomy used in laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer( Dixon),can reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and elevate the prognosis of patients.
