MSCT CURVED SURFACE RESTRUCTURE:ITS APPLICATION IN MEDICOLEGAL INVESTIGATION FOR NASAL BONE LINEAR FRACTURES

Abstract: Objective To assess the application value of multi-slice computed tomography curved surface reconstruction(MSCT CPR)in medicolegal expertise for nasal bone linear fracture. Methods MSCT axial view plain scan and MSCT CPR results of 98 patients with forensic identification for head and face trauma were analyzed. Results CT axial view plain scan:29cases were diagnosed as normal nasal bone,and 69 as nasal bone linear fracture-unilateral or bilateral-the positive rate of nasal bone fracture was 70.4%.MSCT CPR recheck showed normal nasal bone in 20 cases and nasal bone linear fracture in 78 cases,the positive rate of nasal bone fracture was 79.6%. Conclusion MSCT CPR is conducive to display the linear fracture of nasal bone that is difficult to display with routine MSCT axial view plain scan,which has a higher application value in forensic identification for nasal bone linear fracture.
