Abstract: Objective To master epidemic situation of brucellosis in Zhangye city, to provide a scientific basis for effective prevention and control of human brucellosis. Methods According to Monitoring Scheme for Human Brucellosis in Gansu Province, retrospective description was taken to develop epidemiological study and serological surveillance in key vocational exposure population in pastoral area and farming-pastoral region. Results From 2006 to 2014, 30 townships(towns) in pastoral areas and farming-pastoral region were sampled annually, to conduct epidemiological investigation on the occupation population. Totally 54 352 persons were investigated and 9 450 samples of venous blood were collected for Rhose Bengal sodium salt direct agglutination test and test tube agglutination test, with 155 positive serum samples detected positive and positive rate of 1.64%. There were 86 cases with brucellosis confirmed in combination with epidemiological survey and clinical symptoms, with the prevalence rate of 158.23/100 000, including 9 new cases, with the incidence rate of 16.56/100 000 and77 cases at chronic phase. Conclusions There are positive sera of serology of brucellosis detected in Zhangye city from2006 to 2014, and the confirmed cases are scattered in the event of brucellosis. The epidemic situation shows a trend of the resurgence. Surveillance and control of human brucellosis should be paid attention to and strengthened.
