Abstract: China’s targeted poverty alleviation program mainly suffers from the following problems:the poor people have not been accurately identified;policymakers have failed to understand the real situation in the poor regions;the poverty alleviation plans have failed to be adjusted dynamically with changes in the real situation;and the poor people have not benefited from industry supports as much as planned. Therefore, the government needs to clarify the relationship among government, market and society, adjust its poverty reduction policies in accordance with market-based assessment results and requirements of social governance and social construction. It also needs to build its poverty reduction policies on the basis of encouraging the poor people to become more self-driven in shaking off poverty and make them a long-term mechanism that can lay a solid foundation for future poverty alleviation efforts after China becomes an all-round well-off society.
