Abstract: In this study,we investigated the germicidal efficacy of compound phenol,sodium hydroxide and povidone-iodine on Mycobacterium bovis under various concentration and incubation time.The isolates cultures were incubated with different concentration of the disinfectant(with the concentrations 20%,10%,5%,2%,1%,0.5%,0.2%,0.1%and 0.01%respectively).The incubation time were 10,20,30,60 min,l,2,6 h and 12 h respectively.The results showed that 0.2%Compound phenolic and above sterilized the Mycobacterium bovis with 12 h incubation.1%povidone-iodine and above sterilized the Mycobacterium bovis with incubation time at least 6 h.However even 20%sodium hydroxide had no role in killing Mycobacterium bovis with 12 h.The results showed that compound phenolic and povidone-iodine could be used as disinfectant to purify the environment for Mycobacterium bovis.
