Abstract: Objective:To explore the effect of humanistic nursing care in psychological characteristics of newly HIV-infected patients. Methods:Retrospec-tive analysis was conducted to 324 newly HIV-infected patients who received treatment in the STD/AIDS clinic of our hospital dated from January 2014 to December 2015,and the clinical psychological characteristics of the patients during the treatment were recorded. At the same time every new infection patient was treated with warm service and good relationship was established with them. To strengthen psychological counseling and pay attention to communication with patients. The "people-oriented" humanistic nursing care services were conducted throughout the clinical care. Results:Among the 324 newly HIV ca-ses,there were 35 patients (10. 80%) who suspected and denied the condition,190 patients (58. 64%) were shocked and frightened, 157 patients (47.53%) were anxious and worried,and 33 patients (10. 18%) felt lonely and shamed, 16 patients (4. 93%) were in despair and 16 patients (4. 93%) were in despair (one patient may have one or more different psychological characteristics). Anxiety and depression of 279 cases (86. 11%) were alleviated after the professional health care team explained details of the HIV related knowledge,psychological problems analysis and provide consultation and humanistic care nursing support,38 cases (11. 73%) were transferred to red ribbon for peer health education advisory;7 cases (2. 16%) were trans-ferred to specialist psychological clinic to receive intervention treatment. Conclusion:Humanistic nursing care can effectively relieve the psychological charac-teristics of HIV-infected patients and control the physical, psychological and behavioral problems of them, thus improving the quality of life and the effec-tiveness of AIDS prevention and treatment of the infected patients.
