Abstract: The authors introduce the region division of geological hazards prone areas in Ezhou urban,Hubei Province. Based on the analysis of geological environment conditions and detailed investigation of geological hazards in Ezhou urban by GIS technology,the subarea of easily produce geological disaster has been divided by means of qualitative analysis supporting by disturbance coefficient method. Combining with the distribution rules and formation mechanism of geolog-ical hazards,each subarea has been evaluated in detail and corresponding prevention countermeasures have been put for-ward,which provides a scientific basis for the geological hazard prevention planning of Ezhou urban.
