Abstract: According to the investigation of Tenglongqiao II hydropower station,it shows that the engineering geological conditions in this junction area is very complex. Longjiang fault closing to the right bank, the rock mass has been strong weathered, and rock has been broken under the influence of the station. Besides,on the left along the slope and the dam downstream developed a large scale of landslide, the slope is instable. Choosing the left or right bank diversion tunnel is very difficult, which directly related to the safety of engineering and decision making. Through a lot of engineering geo-logical prospecting and analysis, comparing the diversion tunnel of the favorable factors, disadvantages and risks on both sides, the engineering measures need to be taken. Considering all of these engineering geological conditions, the right bank diversion tunnel has been recommended.
