Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis plaque and myoglobin and Uric Acid in patients with acute cerebral infarction( ACI). Methods One hundred and fifty-six patients with ACI were divided into non plaque group(n=40),stable plaque group(n = 54) and unstable plaque group(n = 62) according to the results of carotid ultrasound examination. And there were 35 cases,44 cases and 37 cases with plaque grade Ⅰ,gradeⅡ and grade Ⅲ respectively. The levels of serum myoglobin and Uric Acid were detected and the results were compared among these groups. Results The levels of serum myoglobin and Uric Acid in stable plaque group and unstable plaque group were significantly higher than those in non plaque group( all P < 0. 05); and which in unstable plaque group were significantly higher than those in stable plaque group( all P < 0. 05). Along with the increase of plaque severity, the levels of serum myoglobin and Uric Acid were remarkably increased( all P < 0. 05),The levels of Mb and UA were significantly positively correlated with carotid plaque(r = 0. 457,r = 0. 498). Conclusion The levels of serum myoglobin and Uric Acid may be two kinds of arterial inflammation stimuli and can reflect the severity of carotid atherosclerosis in ACI patients to a certain extent, and should be further in-depth studied by basic medicine and clinical medicine.
