Abstract: 3D numerical wave tank suitable for wave-body interactions is created based on N-S equations and continuity equations. Then wave run-up and diffraction effects around fixed vertical column are simu-lated in this numerical wave tank. In order to verify the accuracy of numerical calculation, model test about wave run-up near column wall is applied. Good agreement is obtained between calculation and model test, which indicates that this numerical method is feasible. The amplitude and non-linear effects of wave run-up due to the direction of incident wave are investigated. In addition, wave superposition, amplification and the secondary wave crest effects are also analysed, and the characteristics of vortex shedding on free sur-face are deeply studied, which will provide a reference for further research on the wave non-linear effects around complicated offshore structures in different incident wave directions.
