Abstract: To study the function mechanism of rubber powder in asphalt,analyzed the influence of rubber powder mixing amount on asphalt softening point,penetration and low temperature ductility through indoor test. Test results show that the softening point and ductility first increases,then decreases with the increase of rubber powder content and when the rubber powder content is 15%,softening point and ductility are maximum,indicates that the high and low temperature performance of rubber asphalt is best; penetration along with the increase of rubber powder content gradually decreased,but not much difference from the matrix asphalt penetration.
