Abstract: The dynamic management of mineral reserves provides a real time and accurate way to manage the mining, losing, and remaining reserves of the nationwide mineral enterprises in current year. It would be helpful to understand the changes of mineral resources reserves and the underlying reasons, improve the protection and exploitation of mineral resources, and provide basic information for the mineral administra-tion. The three-dimensional (3D) laser scanning technique is considered as another technological revolu-tion after GPS. It is a novel instrument used for geological exploration and mineral measurements. The ap-plication of 3D laser scanning technique would provide a revolutionary solution on the approaches and pro-cedures of dynamic management of mineral reserves. In this article, Maptek I-Site 8810 3D laser scanner was used to explore one mine for the second time. The results of the data measured by the two actual ex-periments were compared. This study would provide a reference for the investigations of the 3D laser scan-ning technique on the dynamic monitoring of mineral resources reserves, and provide evidences for its fur-ther applications on large-scale in future.%
