Abstract: Since the reform and open up, China has witnessed a series of great changes in all aspects of social and economic areas and got an outstanding achievement in the international inbound tourism market as well.China has become one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations; nevertheless, inbound tourist flow distributes imbalanced among her inner regions due to her vast geographic territory, complexity of natural and social condition and variety in tourism resources. Above all, there are significant disparities in quantity, quality and structure of inbound tourist market between inland and coastal regions. This paper applied the framework of ESTDA to analyze the space- time dynamics of distribution of China’s inbound tourist flow from1987 to 2013. It found that:(1)the provincial inequality of tourist volume tends to be narrowed, the spatial agglomeration of which is likely to be strengthened.(2) The global polarization pattern existing in the HongKong-Macau-Taiwan(HMT)market is remarkable.(3)Market position of each province is rather stable;(4)Interprovincial coordinated growth plays the main role in the time sequence of tourist growth.
