Study on the evaluation on universities' educational resources allocation of 6659 medical students

Abstract: The level of educational resources allocation plays an important role in affecting the quality of health professionals education.Based on stratified multistage cluster sampling,a questionnaire survey was administered with 6659 second-year medical,nursing,and public health undergraduate students from 30 higher medical education institutions in China.It was found that the evaluation of 50.9 % respondents on the allocation of amenities is inadequate or highly inadequate,as well 41.2 % and 37.4%respondents on the allocation of classrooms and sports/recreational facilities respectively.Medical sophomore students in colleges or universities directly affiliated to the central ministries/departments/institutions prefer to give a better sufficient evaluation than medical sophomore students in colleges or universities directly affiliated to the provincial/municipal/prefectural departments/institutions (P < 0.05),medical sophomore students in comprehensive universities prefer to give a better sufficient evaluation than medical sophomore students in medicine & pharmacy colleges or universities (P < 0.05).Finally,the authors discussed some measures and reasons of the study finds on relevant government and colleges or universities policies,such as optimizing the resources allocatiou and improve the efficiency of higher medical educational resources.
