Abstract: The separation distance of single-slit diffraction of ±1 level trough is calculated by the image overlap method based on theory of Fraunhofer diffraction and Babinet principle in the experiment of measuring the diameter of filament by laser diffraction method.The filament diameter is calculated by formula of single-slit diffraction.The feasibility of this method is proved by experimental results.
