Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of valsartan on hypertension associated with impaired glucose tolerance in el-derly patients. Methods Convenient selection in August 2013―January 2016 in our hospital 86 cases of elderly patients with hypertension and impaired glucose tolerance was observed as the target, according to figures divided into reference group(n =43, using amlodipine) and test group(n =43, the use of valsartan), the indexes of two groups of elderly hyperten-sion patients with impaired glucose tolerance were compared. Results After statistical analysis, the test group of 43 cases of patients with nocturnal blood pressure (systolic and diastolic blood pressure) (1.2113 ± 7.34)mmHg, (76.62 ± 8.25)mmHg with the reference group superior, glucose tolerance, NO levels, blood glucose and blood pressure in the test group were bet-ter than those of the reference group in 43 cases, significant differences between the groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Valsartan in elderly hypertensive patients with impaired glucose tolerance more effective than amlodipine, can achieve the desired overall compliance rate is worthy of reference and comprehensive promotion.
