Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome type and risk factors of menopausal hypertension in Uygur and Han women. Methods One hundred and eighty hospitalized female patients with menopausal hypertension from July 2015 to October 2015,according to the different nations, were divided into two groups:100 cases of Uygur population in Xinjiang Medical University Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,80 cases of Han population from Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Results The most common TCM syndrome in Uygur female patients with menopausal hypertension was liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome, phlegm and dampness syndrome(31% vs28%).The most common TCM syndrome in Han female patients with menopausal hypertension was yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney,liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome(38.8% vs 30%).There was the difference in age, body mass index(BMI)between Uygur and Han female patients with menopausal hypertension(P <0.05).The serum triglyceride(TG)level in Han female menopausal hypertensive patient with liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome was the highest, which was higher than that in patient with yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney(P <0.05).The level of serum low density lipoprotein(LDL)in Han female menopausal hypertensive patient with liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome was the highest, which was higher than that in patient with yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney, and deficiency syndrome of both qi and yin(P <0.05).The levels of serum TG,total cholesterol(TC),LDL in Uygur female climacteric hypertensive patient with phlegm and dampness syndrome were the highest, which was higher than that of the other syndromes(P <0.05).The level of serum high density lipoprotein(HDL)in Uygur female menopausal hypertensive patient with phlegm and dampness syndrome was the lowest(P <0.05).There was the difference in TC,TG,HDL between Uygur and Han female patients with menopausal hypertension(P <0.05).The glycosylated hemoglobin value in Han female menopausal hypertensive patient with deficiency syndrome of both qi and yin the highest, was higher than that in patient with phlegm and dampness syndrome(P <0.05).Conclusion There are the differences in the age, overweight or obese,TC,TG,HDL between Xinjiang Uygur and Shanghai Han female patients with menopausal hypertension(P <0.05).It shows that the age, overweight or obese,TC,TG,HDL-C levels may be the main risk factors in Xinjiang Uygur female patients with menopausal hypertension. The main TCM syndrome types are liver-yang hyperactivity syndrome, yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney, phlegm and dampness syndrome. The second is the deficiency syndrome of both qi and Yin.
