Abstract: From the perspective of engineering practice, research and comparison on characteristics and calculation results of the three methods,w hich are engineering method,arc-length method and eigenvalue analytical method, for stability calculation of composite stiffened panel are presented in this paper. Comparison betw een the results of testing and calculation is also presented, accordingly, characteristics of the calculation results, calculation precision, fitness for use in different aircraft design phases, advantages and disadvantages of various calculation methods can be concluded. Therefore,it w ill be easy to reach the requirement of calculation by choosing appropriate calculation method properly according to engineering practice, and the design time can also be saved.
