Abstract: The bottom line thinking is a new way of thinking proposed by General Secretary Xi Jin‐ping after The Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC . This way of thinking is the inheritance and promotion of Deng Xiaoping's theory of reform in the fundamental direction of socialism .The historical experience of China's socialist reform and opening to the outside world has proved that adhering to the reform methodology of the bottom line thinking is the fundamental guarantee for the reform and opening up along the direction of socialism .Currently ,Chinese reform's entering a deep water area .We should more adhere to the methodological principle , which is determined by the characteristics of this way of thinking .Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC , General Secretary Xi Jin‐ping has stressed the need to adhere to the principle of the bottom line thinking in comprehensively deepening reform and has put forward specific requirements on how to carry out the principle of the bottom line thinking in the work of the reform and opening up and how leading cadres adhere to the principle of the bottom line thinking .
