Abstract: Flat geotube embankments which constructed in estuary and coastal areas are prone to collapse due to these factors like wave parameters, tide level, near bed current velocity and wind speed in the process of construction. Based on present situation that the design and construction work of flat geotube embankment lacks of quantitative calculating method, firstly, factors which influence to the stability of geotube embankment were analyzed;then stability formulas of the structure were proposed corresponding to each factor; secondly, by using the proposed formulas, quantitative calculations of the stability of practical engineering were presented, then anti?wave stability coefficient curves, incipient velocity curves of sediment and anti wind induced wave stability coefficient curves were obtained, by analyzing these curves, critical values of wave height and current velocity were obtained. All these results had provided a quantitative basis for the design and construction of engineering.
