Study on Comfortability of Contact and Quantitative Evaluation Method of Nonwovens for Disposable Hygiene Products

Abstract: This study selects 6 commercialized products,used as topGsheets of disposable hygiene products,to investigate the structure and properties of the nonwovens,such as the crossGsections and the bonding points of the fibers,as well as basic weight,thickness and mechanical properties,measures the obj ective indicators of comfortability of contact,such as bending rigidness and surface roughness,and compares with the results of the sensory comparison,that is a subj ective test of the comfortability of contact to probe the law of influence of the structure and material properties on the comfortability of contact.The results show that,comparing with softness,smoothness plays a dominate role to decide comfortability of contact. Well controlled processing condition is import for producing nonwovens with good smoothness,by which density of bounding point can be reduced,and molten bounding point and serious unevenness can be avoided.
