The Energy-Saving Assessment and Optimization of Energy Storage and Electricity Utilization Technology Based on the Energy Efficiency Evaluation of Power System

Abstract: Electrical energy-storage technology has been widely used due to its peak shaving function,but there has not been much quantitative analysis on its energy-saving effect. A nodal coal consumption rate index is proposed and derived to evaluate the power system energy efficiency,and an optimal power flow method is then used to calculate the index. Based on this theory,a nodal coal consumption for electricity utilization index is introduced and applied in the assessment of electrical energy-storage techniques ’energy-saving effect,and a energy saving optimization for energy storage and electricity utilization is further studied. The simulation on the IEEE14-bus system reveals the time and space characteristicsof the nodal coal consumption rate index,andindicatesits feasibility in the power system energy efficiency evaluation. The example analysis of the icestorage system verifies the feasibility of the energy-saving evaluating method and the corresponding optimal control model of electrical energy-storage techniques. The effectiveness of the optimal control model in reducing the power system energy consumption is also confirmed.
