Abstract: Ecofeminism is a combination of feminism and ecological ideas.By linking“natural discrimination”and“gender discrimina-tion”together,ecofeminism reveals the relationship between man and nature,woman and nature as well as between man and woman. The ecofeminism awareness is shown in his many works.Wherever,Hemingway's ecofeminism awareness presents contradictions and complexity.On one hand,he loves and respects nature and women,and has mercy on and compassionate both of them under the op-pression of patriarchal system;On the other hand,he is influenced by the anthropocentrism and the male chauvinism,being keen to conquer women and nature.For Whom the Bell Tolls and Green Hills ofAfrica are the embodiment of his contradictory ecofeminism awareness.The contradictory ecofeminism awareness presented in the two works should be clearly analyzed,so the readers can have a better understanding of Hemingway himself and the connotation of the two works.
