Abstract: Objective To investigate azaphilones from a marine-derived Pleosporales sp.fungus collected from the Bohai Sea.Methods Azaphilones were separated and purified by column chromatography on Silica gel and ODS,and semi-preparative HPLC.Their structures were elucidated by extensive NMR and MS spectroscopic data, and by comparison with the data of literature.Antifungal activities of these compounds were also evaluated. Results Six azaphilones, isochromophilone I,VI,IX(1-3),(+)-sclerotiorin(4),5-chloroisorotiorin(5),hypocrellone A(6),were obtained from the fungus Pleosporales sp.Compounds 1-6 showed moderate antifungal activities against three plant pathogenic fungi,Thielaviopsis paradoxa,Pestalotia calabae, and Glorosprium musarum. Conclusion All of the isolated compounds were obtained from the fungus of the genus Pleosporales for the first time.Azaphilones showed research value potential as antifungal agents.
